Leading Defence Firm Acquires Land Mine Clearance Capability

minewolfpictureDefence manufacturer Pearson Engineering Ltd has announced the acquisition of the intellectual property and assets of MineWolf AG – a global leader in land mine clearance technology.

Pearson Engineering Ltd (PEL) is an award-winning provider of counter-mine, counter-IED, route proving, combat earthmoving and assault bridge launching equipment for armoured fighting vehicles.  Its products, including the SPARK mine roller, have been credited with saving many lives in recent conflicts in Iraq and Afghanistan.

The acquisition provides the Tyneside-based company with the full range of MineWolf products that include four types of armoured vehicle fitted with a range of counter-mine and counter-IED tools, including flails, tillers and robotic arms.

Pearson Engineering now has a range of products that offer protection to civilians and NGOs working in the humanitarian demining sector and to police and civil defence forces for homeland security operations.

minewolf-243-4MineWolf products have been described as life savers; preventing injury and saving countless lives across the world. The vehicles have been built to till the land and crush or detonate landmines buried in the soil.

Pearson Engineering is part of innovative North East engineering firm Reece Group, based in the iconic Armstrong Works in Newcastle. This acquisition follows the recent addition of food processing specialists, Continuous Retorts Ltd (CRL), to the Reece Group’s diverse portfolio of companies, which also include Responsive Engineering, Reece Innovation and Velocity UK.
