Pearson Engineering Wins International Supply Chain Award

Pearson Engineering has been presented with an award by the Australian Defence Materiel Organisation (DMO) at the ADM 2013 Awards Dinner held in Canberra at Old Parliament House on Tuesday 12 February 2013. The ADM/DMO Industry Awards recognise excellence in the level of collaboration between DMO and industry teams.
The awards are structured into four categories from which a major company/DMO team and an SME/DMO team are chosen to win the ultimate award, the Essington Lewis Trophy – one for the major company/DMO team and one for the SME/DMO team.
The prestigious Essington Lewis Trophy for SME’s was awarded to the Joint Project 154 Phase 3A team and its 11 industry teams partners in the Rapid Acquisition Category which included Pearson Engineering as well as JCB US and UK, Construction Equipment Australia, Selex Galileo UK, CSI, DCD Protected Mobility, FASCAN International US, Chemring Australia, NIITEK and IDES
The award reads “the industry team was able to deliver a complex high technology counter-IED solution to a serious frontline problem the ADF was facing using MOTS and COTS technology in a tightly compressed timeline. The teams are commended on their in-theatre introduction and support efforts in Afghanistan by both parties”.
Pearson Engineering’s role was the delivery of its Self-Protection Adaptive Roller Kit (SPARK II) system for fitting on to the Thales Bushmaster. The product designed by Pearson Engineering provided an increased level of protection to the vehicles’ crew and had proven itself in Afghanistan with the US Armed forces. Pearson Engineering was able to draw upon its highly skilled project management team and supply chain to deliver to tight deadlines.
